At EKOY, sustainability is more than just a slogan – it is at the heart of our daily operations and long-term strategy. We believe that acting responsibly helps us to protect the environment, provide the best products and services to our customers and ensure the sustainability of our business in the future.
Using renewable energy will help us reduce our environmental impact. Two solar fields produce on average 50% of our total energy consumption, helping us to reduce energy costs and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. We have reduced our greenhouse gas footprint by 17% from 2023 to 2024, demonstrating our commitment to environmentally sustainable practices.
We implement ISO 14001 environmental management system throughout the Group, which ensures that our operations meet the highest environmental standards. Our principles include continuous improvement, compliance with legislation and raising employee awareness. We value the natural environment in which we operate, so we use natural resources sparingly and constantly look for new ways to produce more sustainably.
We reduce the environmental impact of our manufacturing operations in a number of ways, including:
- Optimising transport: more efficient transport reduces fuel consumption and emissions.
- Developing the energy efficiency of production plants: we invest in energy-efficient equipment and technologies.
- Green energy: we use renewable energy to reduce our carbon footprint.
- Effective materials management: we reduce waste and use materials sustainably.
- Regular monitoring and transparency.

CO₂ footprint
Measuring our carbon footprint helps us identify our company’s significant environmental aspects and impacts and set appropriate environmental goals.
When assessing greenhouse gas emissions, the following are taken into account:
- local production activities;
- domestic and Finnish freight transport, sea transport and transport of own vehicles;
- transport related to the provision of services by cooperation partners;
- office equipment;
- household and office paper consumption.
